Medical Doctor, content creator, lifestyle influencer, creative artist & author of the Caribbean Fruit Cake. I love to laugh and inspire. I am a Physician seeking to entertain and inspire people to be fearlessly creative and live a healthy and authentic life. Born in London, England, and raised in Northern Nigeria, West Africa until the age of 16. After living in Brooklyn, New York I attended Cornell University as a theater major with a pre-medicine concentration. After university, I lived and worked in California before attending medical school at MUSC in Charleston S.C. After 20 years of medical practice, I started this blog and a YouTube channel as an artistic outlet. I love all things art, food, and multiculturalism. My goal is to inspire joy and creativity in your everyday living.
I am also a wife and mother of 3 adult children who manage to find a balance between my medical career and creative pursuits. I have always straddled the line between science and the arts in college.
When not taking care of patients I am either writing or recording a Youtube video. My lifestyle content is reflective of my diverse multicultural upbringing – thanks to my Nigerian and Jamaican parents and my Vietnamese-American husband.
As you can imagine a significant part of my life has been spent in school, from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY to Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC and New York Presbyterian in Manhattan, NY. After many years of practising medicine, I decided I needed a fun and productive way to be creative while sharing some wisdom, family adventures and recipes as well. So I started a lifestyle blog and became active on social media, including my YouTube channel – Kenton & Habiba. Here is a blog I wrote for KevinMD as well.
I hope you find this blog not only entertaining but inspires you to be creative and to live your authentic self without fear of judgement.
